L.A. Wildfires: Where to Donate, Volunteer, Get Info, and Support (UPDATED LIST)
Issue no. 36: We're trying our best.
Please bookmark this post as I will be updating as new information is sent to me. If you have any information and/or resources for the L.A. Wildfires to add, please share via email editor@thediasporatimes.com.
It’s somber in Los Angeles, but the morale is still strong. The wildfires have devastated so many lives and when you’re living here it’s hard to just move on with your day without thinking, “our city is on fire.”
It’s giving COVID era panic and uncertainty. With that comes a barrage of information via social and the news. Some of it makes you feel inspired while others make you feel like you aren’t doing enough. Either way, it’s overwhelming and there is no “right way” to approach a tragedy.
It’s easy to feel helpless in a time like this. Some people don’t have enough money to donate to everyone they want while others aren’t comfortable with being around crowds to volunteer. There is so much we can do. Talking to each other and checking in on each other’s well-being is one easy way.
All we can do is our best and Los Angeles has shown an enormous sense of community as we rebuild and navigate our grief.
Below is a one-stop shop of sites, social media accounts, and events that are set to benefit those who are impacted by the L.A. wildfires. All help from everywhere is welcome.
